The next 10 years in my business

If I look back 10 years, I was 34 years old. I was already in Alicante at that time. I would even say I had just arrived. Quondos was at full speed at that time if I remember correctly. What I did not know then was that I was in a business that I would soon realise was not the one I wanted to develop in order to make it grow. I was soon to realise that once again I was in a trap, just like with Coguan, assuming responsibility for the people who were there.

I was able to leave Quondos assuming the responsibility I had for the team I was in. I was finally “free” to dedicate myself to those projects that really interested me.

Over the years, it always crossed my mind that what would be great would be to have a company of accessories for collectibles. It is a dream come true to live it. It is still too early to be happy with what has been achieved because it has only been a start.

Largest collectibles accessories company in Europe
This has to be our minimum goal. In Europe we have to be the largest. It is not an easy challenge at all because there are already some “big” competitors that invoice millions of euros. We still have some way to go to get there.

Be 100% focused on my business in less than three years
There is less time left for me to take the step. Even though the consulting projects are interesting and I almost always get something new out of them, I prefer to be able to put them aside at a given time. To do this we still have to grow significantly. This also means that all of us who are now in the company will be able to benefit from higher salaries. Three years is a long time and a short time at the same time. We will not be able to relax, but we are already clear about that.

Improved processes and structures
Until recently we have worked like three friends who get together to sell things. We have grown beyond that to continue working that way. The change is working but we also have to convince ourselves that going slower sometimes makes more sense to go faster in the medium and long term. Following processes has advantages and disadvantages.

We must not forget that we also have a tool that we are developing. It is a highly competitive market. Being in the top 10 is not too ambitious but you cannot pursue everything at the same time and expect extraordinary results. Maybe looking ahead 20 years we can already propose a top 3. Luckily we have time for everything.
